Kael 6 months old

I'm a slacker when it comes to blogging, I haven't written anything since Kael was 3 weeks old!!! He's now 6 months old and is getting really big, he can roll over and sit up if you put him in that position. He wants to crawl but is such a hoss he is still working on the muscle strength to do that. He started saying "dada" the day before Father's day, best present you can ask for.

Kael Jacob 3 weeks old

We took Kael in for his 2 week doctors appointment this week.  He's doing great and has gained 20 ounces in the past two weeks.  He's staying awake a lot more this week, keeping us up at all hours of the night.  But I guess that's what babies do :)

Kael Jacob 2 weeks old

Kael is about to turn 2 weeks old!  Time seems to fly by when you have a baby, he keeps us busy. He's doing great and doesn't cry too much  but likes to keep us up at night quite a bit.  Night time is his daytime still :(

His umbilical cord finally came off this week so we were able to give him his first bath, he didn't care for it much but I think that was because he was cold.  

Kael Jacob 4 days old

Kael is almost officially about 4 days old.  He's doing great and eats all the time now :)  ... He's not too fussy most of the time unless he gets hungry or poops.  

I'm still learning to change diapers but I'm getting used to it pretty fast, he really doesn't like the cold huggies on his little private parts.  I think I'll see if they make a huggie warmer device to spare him that trauma.

Kael Jacob's Birth

Kael Jacob was born at 1:45am on January 2nd. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. Both Kael and Nicole are doing great and we'll be going home from the hospital on Sunday.

Kael's baby shower

Kael's baby shower was this past Saturday and everything went great! Thanks to everyone for the baby gifts, they will all come in extremely helpful. If I had known getting all of the stuff for your first baby was so expensive I would have started saving years ago!

Barack Obama!

Congratulations to Barack Obama for a landslide victory last night!!!

I also wanted to announce that I'm going to have to move out of Missouri because they went for McCain by 6,000 votes :(
